Fatboy's The Burger Bar - BURGERS!!!

It was really late and most places were already closing for the night. My girlfriend and I were ready to head for the nearest McDonald's when we noticed a signboard at the corner of our eyes.

It was FATBOY'S THE BURGER BAR.

FATBOY'S THE BURGER BAR is known for serving delicious handmade burgers and even more famous for their "build-your-own-burger", where you get to customize your own gourmet burger.

Seeing that the place was supposed to be inspired by "Rock & Roll", the interior felt underwhelming and didn't went the extra mile.

Service on the other-hand was decent. The staffs served our food and drinks in timely fashion and there weren't any major setbacks.

COKE FLOAT (5.50)
An ice-cream float sounds good in a "Rock & Roll" setting like this, especially for it being my first time to try one.

The vanilla ice-cream somehow reacted with the coke to form thick foams and it tasted really unpleasant.

Not gonna order ice-cream float ever again.

ORANGE JUICE (3.50)
Ashley decided to have some fruit juice instead. The orange juice tasted like those store bought juices.

So it's quite expensive, given the size of her glass.

THE YOLO (17.50)
A single patty of your choice. Either Beef, Lamb or Pork.

I choose beef.

Assembled atop a Fried egg, Fried spam, Fried Onion Strings, Mozzarella Cheese Sticks with Smoked Chipotle on a sesame seed bun. (Description from their menu)

The burger came with a side of thick cut fries, a piece of lettuce and a slice of tomato.

For the price, the portion of fries given was a disappointment.

At least tasted the fries tasted good. Nice color and satisfying crust with just a simple seasoning of salt.

The buns were toasted with the addition of sesame seeds giving it a nice texture.

However, the soft and soggy fried onion strings were disappointing while the smoked Chipotle sauce just tasted like spicy mayo.

The beef patty was fully cooked and lightly seasoned but sadly the flavor was overpowered by the fried spam and fried egg.

Even though the Mozzarella sticks gave the burger a nice bite, the cheese simply didn't go well with the burger. It felt like two different entity.

MAHALO (12.50)
Ashley decided to go for the less expensive route that comes with a pork patty.

The MAHALO consists of a Bacon stuffed pork patty topped with caramelised onions, grilled pineapple, melted monterey jack cheese and creamy mayonnaise on a sesame seed bun.

For the price of 12.50, the burger also comes with a side of thick cut fries and a serving of lettuce and tomato.

I liked how the buns were toasted and the Monterey jack cheese was nicely melted providing a mild creamy saltiness to the burger,

The caramelized onions also gave an added texture to the burger and a pleasant sweet-savory flavor profile.

The pork patty was way under-cooked for my preference, and gave it a mushy texture. Hardly tasted any bacon in the patty too.

The grilled pineapples surprisingly stood out the most from this burger.

The sharp sweetness from the pineapples helps cuts through the savoriness from the pork patty and also helps cleanse the palate.

FATBOY'S THE BURGER BAR was quite a disappointment for me. Both the portion on each plate and flavors were lacking.

Maybe next I'll be back to create my own burger, Just Maybe.
